- QGIS installation on various operating systems
- User interface and work environment configuration
- Projection management
- Project creation and management
- Vector geographic data

    - properties, import/export, format conversion
    - styling, labeling and expressions
    - attribute tables
    - feature query with custom forms
    - simple joins and 1:N joins
- Vector digitizing

    - snapping properties
    - geometric and topological error management
    - advanced "CAD"-style digitizing
- Loading data from the web: proprietary, free and standard solutions (Google Maps, Tile XYZ, WMS, WFS, WPS)
- Raster geographic data

    - characteristics and properties, styling
    - data querying
- Advanced printing, batch printing
